By the end of this year, Asian countries, led by China, became the main buyers of Russian oil. Thus, domestic exporting companies have reoriented the supply of raw materials to the East.
China imported a record amount of domestic oil in the first half of this year. In 10 months, from January to October this year, 88.5 million tons of oil were supplied to China from the Russian Federation. This is 23% more than in the same period of 2022. Thus, Russia overtook Saudi Arabia and became the leader in terms of oil supplies to China.
India is the second largest buyer of Russian oil. From January to September, it purchased about 70 million tons from us. Russia is also a confident leader in this market, ahead of Iraq and Saudi Arabia.
According to experts, China, India, Malaysia and Turkey will account for about 90 percent of oil supplies from our country in 2024.
