Russia exported more than 215 thousand tons of dairy products in 2023. This is almost 9% higher than the previous year, according to the Agroexport center under the Ministry of Agriculture.

Thus, the export of powdered milk increased by about 5 times, to more than 20 thousand tons, and whey – by 2 times, to 24 thousand tons. The largest buyers of Russian dairy products were Kazakhstan, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia and China.

One of the major exporters of dairy products in 2023 was Molvest Group, which increased supplies by 40% to 290 million rubles. The export geography includes China, Abkhazia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan. Among the new destinations are Uzbekistan, South Ossetia, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, the Philippines and Algeria.

"Government support – participation in business missions, exhibitions, subsidizing transport logistics - contributes to the development of dairy exports," commented Valery Zubkov, Deputy Commercial Director of GK.

In 2024, the company sets itself the task of increasing exports of deep–processed products - whey and milk proteins. "These products are not mass–marketed, but they are interesting from the point of view of high-tech processing and allow us to compete with the leading manufacturers of dairy ingredients in the world," Zubkov said.
