Russia has become the largest exporter of diesel fuel to Brazil: it has increased supplies 60 times (from 101 thousand to 6.1 million tons) compared to last year. Such data is provided by the Financial Times.

On average, over a year, more than half of imported diesel fuel in Brazil was imported from our country. Moreover, by the end of 2023, this share had grown to 85%. In addition, the average annual supply of Russian fuel oil to Brazil increased 4 times. Previously, the United States was the main supplier of petroleum products to Brazil.

In total diesel exports from Russia, deliveries to Brazil account for about 13%. The largest shipments in the previous year were to Turkey, Africa or the Middle East.

Due to the growth in imports of domestic petroleum products by the end of 2023, Brazil entered the top 5 trading partners of Russia. The Latin American country has purchased goods worth $ 10 billion. The main part came from the payment of Russian oil and petroleum products.
