As you already know, imports from abroad were allowed in the spring of last year. Due to the withdrawal of many well-known brands from the Russian market, this tool has become the only way to offer customers products that are no longer officially sold in Russia.
Now the list of goods allowed for import has been replenished with several categories at once.
- Tableware and wooden items from a well-known home store that are not officially sold in Russia.
- Cars. The list includes 11 foreign brands. It is also possible to import passenger cars, buses and tractors of famous brands.
- Cosmetics and perfumes. The list includes products from the luxury and mid-budget segments of French fashion houses.
- Game consoles. Gamers in Russia will now be able to purchase portable consoles from Japanese and American manufacturers. Consoles (non-portable) were available for purchase in 2022.
How can I use parallel import for business?
With new goods allowed for import, new opportunities also appear. For large market players, perhaps, it may be very profitable to purchase tractors, buses and other equipment. Transportation brings a lot of profit, and equipment can be purchased in order to lease it to other companies.
For owners of online stores or small offline outlets, it may be profitable to order perfumes. These products are always in demand, and the fair sex miss the famous brands of cosmetics, which are now difficult to get in Russia.
And we want to highlight the market of consoles separately. According to statistics, consoles of American brands were in good demand in 2022. In 2023, the trend for buying these things persists. In addition, many gamers prefer to play directly "on the go". This means that it can be very profitable to sell portable consoles.
And these products always require add–ons – namely games. Due to the complexity of content purchases in online stores, gamers choose physical media with games. Even considering that prices, especially for AAA projects, are rising, they still do not stop buying them.
