Cars and household appliances have risen in price in Russia due to the weakening of the ruble

Prices for foreign cars and household appliances have increased markedly due to the falling ruble. This is due to the fact that imports from abroad strongly depend on exchange rates.

Since the beginning of April, the cost of new European and American foreign cars has increased by 10-12%. Car dealers are forced to raise prices due to the rise in price of logistics services. Chinese cars have also become more expensive to purchase. Despite the strengthening of the yuan, China's manufacturers indexed the price for their products by 2-4%.

The falling ruble also hit large household appliances. Prices have risen for both "parallel" and official supplies from friendly countries, including China. The price increased by an average of 8-10%.

Popular models of Samsung and LG TVs have risen in price due to the shortage of the equipment itself. And the Chinese Hisense climate equipment has increased in price by 4-8%. Previously, Midea, Toshiba and Comfee equipment became more expensive. And from May 1, prices for Gorenje equipment will increase.

The value of the ruble has decreased due to the fact that Russia is now at the lowest point in receiving export revenue, which significantly decreased at the beginning of 2023. Since March 24, the ruble has fallen by 7% against the US dollar, and by 8% against the euro.

According to experts, the future situation with prices will depend on the ruble exchange rate and the ability of large companies to create the necessary stocks in warehouses.
